The Gorge Enduro is back for 2024. This year we’re calling the event the Gorge Winter Experience – ‘The Matariki’. The event will take place over Matariki weekend and includes 6 race stages, several fun challenges and the opportunity to experience a few of the less ridden but very fun trails! Inlcudes two shuttles.
‘The Matariki’ is all about getting out with mates to ride awesome trails while supporting the Gorge. Race as hard as you like or take it easy and just enjoying being at the Wairoa Gorge MTB park.

Shuttle 1 – Razor Bridge to Irvines
Liaison – Irvines to Creamed Rice
Stage one – Creamed Rice
Liaison Weiner Road to Alaskan Pipeline
Challenge stage – Alaskan Pipeline. (Untimed but with Poker points!)
Liaison Boar Road to Free Range
Stage Two – Free Range
Ride – Rainbow Surfer (untimed, take your time and enjoy the views!)
Shuttle 2 – Razor Bridge – Irvines
Liaison – Irvines to Cheese Morts
Stage 3 – Cheesy Morts from Creamed Rice Skid
Liaison – Benched As
Stage 4 – Touching Base into Huhu
Liaison – Huhu to Bermed As
Stage 5 – Bermed As
Stage 6 – Quattro

There is no practice laps for this years on race day. You have the option of adding the following to your race registration:
Matariki Friday (28th June) practice shuttles – $70
Accommodation at Barry’s Bunkhouse (28th June) – $40 per bunk
