This 10km walk is for participants aged 20 and over, starting from Fairlie Village Green and winding through picturesque country roads before finishing with a splash—literally—via a refreshing dip in the Opihi River as part of the course.
This is a walk-only category, and participants are expected to walk the full distance. This is upheld on an honour system.

This 2.5km event starts and finishes at Fairlie Village Green and is open to participants of all ages and abilities. It’s the perfect option for kids, families, first-time runners, or anyone wanting to be part of the Mackenzie Half experience without taking on a longer course.
👟 Pushchairs and balance bikes for under 5 year olds are welcome. (Please follow NZ road rules)

While we don’t set a strict age limit, we recommend that younger or less experienced runners be accompanied by a registered adult to ensure safety and support throughout the course.
