The Big Easy Hill Climb Time Trial run is a event using the Signal Hill trail.
The competitors will start at the Signal Hill reserve carpark off Butts Rd (behind Logan Park High School) and finish at the Signal Hill lookout - approx 6km.
Participation in this time trial event is open to club and community runners and walkers aged 16 years and above. The minimum age requirement has been established due to the challenging uphill course, potential risks associated with cyclists descending the route, and restricted access to the track, which may affect the timely extraction of any injured participants.
Competitors will start at 1 minute intervals from the slowest competitor to the fastest competitor (depending on entries, this may change to 30 second intervals). Walkers will start from 10:00am, with runners starting from 10:30am
Race numbers will be distributed at the Signal Hill reserve carpark at the start and are to be worn on the front of the torso. Please remember to return your race number after finishing.
The course is on the formed track that will be marked, and marshals will be stationed along the track to assist people as required and warn other track users. The track is open at all times to the public. Please watch out for cyclists, dogs and other track users.
Competitors are to run in single file (unless passing) at least 2m apart on the left side of the track to allow faster competitors to pass on the right. Please do not cut any corners, damage the track or the vegetation alongside the track.
At the top of the hill, officials will record the finish time of each competitor and work out the fastest time.
