Race Entry Information
Entry to all races is open to club and community runners and walkers.
There will be 4 km, 6 km and 8 km races for Open Men (Men U18/U20, Senior Men, Masters Men) and Open Women (Women U18/U20, Senior Women, Masters Women), with all athletes starting together. Separate results (including team’s races) for Men and Women will be declared. The first four Athletics New Zealand registered competitive runners from the same club to finish shall count for the team’s races.
There will be a 2 km race for Girls and Boys Under 12 & Girls and Boys Under 10 with all athletes starting together. Separate results (including team’s races) for Girls and Boys will be declared. The first three Athletics New Zealand registered competitive runners from the same club to finish shall count for the team’s races.
There will be a 3 km race for Girls and Boys Under 14. Separate results (including team’s races) for Girls and Boys will be declared. The first three Athletics New Zealand registered competitive runners from the same club to finish shall count for the team’s races.
There will be a 4 km race for Girls and Boys Under 16. Separate results (including team’s races) for Girls and Boys will be declared. The first three Athletics New Zealand registered competitive runners from the same club to finish shall count for the team’s races.
There will be a fun run (1 km approximately) held on parts of the course for Under 8 Girls and Boys. Entry will be on the day. There will be no times recorded or team’s races.
There will be an Open 6 km walk. The walk is not judged but all entrants are expected to walk the entire distance. Running, if observed, may lead to disqualification. The first four members from the same club will count for the team’s race.
Ages are taken as at 31 December 2025 except that Masters ages are on the day.
Masters Age Grades will be 35-49; 50-64; 65+. Masters results will be in 5-year age groups
Online entries close on Friday 27 June at 6.00pm.
Competition Bib Numbers: To be collected on the day and returned after the race.
Parking: Car parking for athletes will be along the roadside on the boundary of the golf course, off the road and on the grass verge. Alternatively we recommend you park in Portobello and CarPool
Limited changing facilities will be available in the Ōtākou Golf Club
Refreshments and presentations will be held in the Ōtākou Golf Clubrooms after the last event.

Course will be run in clockwise direction - 2 km lap
EVENT 1: 2.00 pm
Girls and Boys Under 10 - 2 km Run (1 lap)
Girls and Boys Under 12 - 2 km Run (1 lap)
Girls and Boys Under 14 - 3 km Run (1 ½ laps)
Open Women and Men - 6 km Walk (3 laps)
EVENT 2: 2.20 pm
Girls and Boys Under 8 Fun Run - 1 km (Half of a lap)
EVENT 3: 2.40 pm
Girls and Boys Under 16 - 4 km Run (2 laps)
Open Women and Men - 4 km Run (2 laps)
Open Women and Men - 6 km Run (3 laps)
Open Women and Men - 8 km Run (4 laps)
