Race Entry Information
Entry to all races is open to club (registered Competitive & Social) and community runners and walkers.
There will be an open 5 km run, an open 5km walk, a 2.5 km and a 1.25 km race, which will be handicapped by the Athletics Otago handicapper. (Athletes run or walk the same distance but start at different time intervals). Male and female runners will compete together, with all under 16, under 18, under 20, senior & masters runners all competing in the same Open 5km race.
The open 5 km walk race will not be judged but competitors are expected to walk the entire distance. Running, if observed, may lead to disqualification.
The Under 10 & Under 12 race will be one full lap of the course - 1.25 km.
The Under 8 race will be a fun run, with entry on the day by children lining up at the start line at the start time. There will be no handicaps for this event.
No one may enter or compete in more than one race.

Community Athletes

Ages are taken as at 31 December 2026 except that Masters ages are on the day.
Team’s Competitions
In the Open 5 km running race, the first six runners to finish the race from the same club shall count for the team’s competition; with the first three from the same club counting for the walking event.
In the Under 14, Under 12 and U10 races, the first four runners to finish the race from the same club shall count for the team’s competition in each event.
Changing facilities will be available at Changing Room next to the Dunedin Rugby Clubrooms, Kettle Park.
Competition Bib Numbers: To be collected on the day and returned after the race. The bibs have a timing chip attached, that the timing system uses to record your finish time for the results. Please do not remove the timing chip from the bib.
Presentations will be held in the adjacent to the start area outside the Dunedin Rugby Clubrooms after the last event, at approximately 12 o’clock.
Medals for the first three in all events (except the Under 8 fun run) will be awarded. The winning teams in each event will be awarded certificates.

EVENT 1: 10.00am
2.5km - Open U14 Boys & Girls (2 laps)
2.5km - Unofficial U16 Boys & Girls (Unofficial Distance race)
5.0km - Open Female/Male Walk (4 laps)
EVENT 2: 10.20 am
500m - Under 8 Girls & Boys Fun Run (1 short lap)
Parents/guardians and siblings are welcome to run or walk with the athletes for this event
EVENT 3: 10.35 am
1.25km - Open Under 10 and Under 12 Boys & Girls (1 lap)
EVENT 4: 11.00 am
5.0km - Open Under 16, Under 18, Under 20, Seniors & Masters Female/Male (4 laps)
11.30 am: Warm down run / walk - To allow time for the results to be finalised
12.00: Presentations
