Round up the crew, this one's for the young guns. The 3km Spark is a fun trail run built just for kids under 12, with mates and whanau cheering them on every step.

The looped course blends flat sections with gentle rollers and a couple of short, punchy climbs, enough to keep things exciting without being overwhelming.

A great way to get the kids out on real farmland and soak up the Blazing Hills atmosphere.

Please note, the trail surface isn't suitable for pushchairs or buggies. Adults can run with the kids if needed. 

A smaller distance with a decent bite. After a short opening flat section, the course tilts upward into a steady 2km climb that lives up to its name. From there, it's a run or walk back down to the finish, taking in the views along the way. 

The route follows formed farm tracks, with great elevated hill country views. It's runnable, walkable and challenging enough to lift the heart rate while still keeping the social vibe intact. 

The Blaze is an 11km loop for runners and walkers who don't mind earning their views - a steady 4km climb from 431m to 785m up to the high point of the farm, rewarded with sweeping vistas across the mountains and Waimarino Plateau.

From there it's farm tracks dropping away, before one short, grunty 800m climb fires up the legs one last time, then a long downhill cruise to the finish. If you're comfortable with hills and keen to show some grit, this one's calling your name!

The Hot Lap sends teams of three out onto the same iconic 11km loop as The Blaze, one runner at a time with the combined time determining the leaderboard. 

It launches into the iconic Heartbreak Hill before rolling across classic hill country on farm tracks and ridgelines, with two major climbs and some uneven farmland underfoot keeping it honest. 

The reward: sweeping 360-degree views across hill country to the mountains and the Waimarino Plateau - tough, scenic, and deeply satisfying.

There's no pressure to race - kids move at their own pace, with timing chips included just for those keen to see their finish time. 

Each child entry includes an adult entry so parents can help where needed (recommended for under-5s, while confident 5+ kids can go it alone). It's all about smiles, muddy shoes, and discovering the fun of OCR.

Suitable for ages 10+ with Open and Competitive categories, it caters to first-timers and fast-time chasers alike. 

A dedicated Firestarter Youth (10-15) event mirrors the adult course with adjusted elements for safety, and is self-seeded so you can race up front or start further back, on your own terms.

Expect heavy hauls, monkey bars, mud, balance challenges and technical elements demanding effort and focus. 

Suitable for ages 14+, with Open and Competitive categories, it rewards mental grit and smart pacing as much as raw strength, delivering camaraderie and a real sense of achievement at the finish.

Enter in Female, Male or Mixed categories (14+), self-seed wherever suits, and get ready for muddy high fives and memories only teamwork can earn.

Suitable for ages 14+ with Open and Competitive categories, it's less about one big moment and more about consistency, composure and staying disciplined when the course refuses to let up - tough, rewarding, and a true test of all-round ability.
