Can I use eventplus without cookies?

No. Cookies are required to use eventplus, we need to know that you have logged in before allowing access to your account data. The only way to know this with current web technologies is to store a cookie on your computer with a unique identifier that tells us you are you. Most interactive websites on the internet make use of cookies.

Can cookies be used to track me?

Yes, despite being an important web technology cookies can also be used to track people. This often happens when a website places a cookie on your computer and has a feature that is loaded by many other websites, such as a social media like button. We think spying on people like this is unethical. eventplus doesn't have any components on other websites that track you and we only use cookies to the minimum required to provide you with a secure logon. eventplus cookies are not used to track you.

What is javascript and why should I care?

Javascript is a programming language that runs within your web browser when you load a page from a website. It is typically used to assist with the look and feel of a website as well as loading additional information into the page in response to actions you take.

Many years ago before javascript web pages were static text and images, and any interaction would require clicking a link and reloading the whole page. These days almost every website makes some use of javascript to provide a more interactive experience. Unlike cookies it is possible avoid using javascript altogether but it would result in an experience that would compare poorly with modern expectations.

Can I use eventplus without Javascript?

No, we make use of Javascript throughout eventplus to improve interactivity and user friendliness. With Javascript disabled in your web browser you will not be able to login or use eventplus services.
