eventplus was created for event professionals who felt constrained by the options available and saw the need for something more complete and community-focused - a platform designed to support both a high-quality participant experience and the long-term growth of events.
Through decades of lived experience and extensive consultation with organisers, it became clear the challenge wasn’t just individual tasks, but how everything worked together. The goal was to reduce administrative workload while strengthening participant engagement.
Launched in 2012, eventplus gained traction across Australia and New Zealand. Privately owned and shaped by ongoing feedback, it continues to evolve alongside the community it supports.
Since the 1990s, Steve and Jen have been closely involved in events, first as participants in triathlons, multisport and endurance races, and later supporting events through media, technology, and hands-on operational work.
With backgrounds in corporate technology delivery and real-world event experience, they were invited in 2012 to work alongside organisers looking for a better way to manage and grow their events. From that collaboration, eventplus was created.
eventplus reflects both their technical background and their connection to the event community. They remain closely involved today, continuing to work alongside organisers and supporting the events and people behind them.
Tom Landon-Smith and Alina McMaster grew Ultra-Trail Australia from 75 runners into one of the world’s largest trail races, prior to its acquisition by IRONMAN in 2018. Since founding AROC Sport in 2003, they have delivered numerous endurance events and built deep expertise across all aspects of event organisation. They remain actively involved in community events and now bring that experience to eventplus, supporting organisers and participants across Australia.
Through their journey, they worked with many registration systems, even building their own, seeking something that truly met the needs of organisers, participants, and the event community.
