Our story

eventplus was created for event professionals who felt limited by simple entry form registration software and could see something more comprehensive was needed to provide a quality event experience and support business growth.

Collecting ideas, experiences and extensive consultation with the people behind a wide range of successful events resulted in a vision of a software platform which would automate away all the time consuming, mundane tasks, leaving event organizers to focus on the important and rewarding parts of running a great event.

Launched in 2012, eventplus quickly became popular with sports events in Australia and New Zealand. The same founding vision, driven by ideas and feedback from the event community, continues to deliver innovation and real benefits to events globally.

For eventplus founders Jen and Steve Knowles events have been a way of life for a long time

Steve is an experienced adventure racer who has also working closely with event teams to capture the exciting moments on camera. Jen’s love of events runs deep, from entering social events, to inspiring corporate teams to give triathlon a go, many hours of support-crewing and helping event organisers develop a strong online presence.

"We come from corporate backgrounds of boardrooms and gantt charts, so now it’s exciting to be playing a part in people overcoming their barriers, achieving their goals and creating special memories.

Events provide the journey and the platform for passionate people to connect. Behind all this are passionate event professionals, working tirelessly to deliver amazing events. We want to be part of that team and contribute to their success.

We feel fortunate to be working in an industry which embraces the better part of life."

Team Australia

Tom Landon-Smith and Alina McMaster have been heavily involved in the events space since 2003 when they started their company AROC Sport. They have organised hundreds of events from 3 hour to 3 day adventure races, mountain bike events, paddling events and trail running events including the Ultra-Trail Australia event. After growing UTA into the biggest trail run event in the Southern Hemisphere and 3rd biggest in the world it was sold to Ironman in 2018.

"During the many years of our events business we went through many different entry systems, even trying to develop our own, in an effort to have a system that met all our entry and reporting needs. Then we found eventplus and never looked back. We were able to easily use this for small events right through to complete events like UTA without any problem and with the system meeting all our needs.  On top of this was the huge amount of immediate support and ability to continually adapt to our changing needs by eventplus. We are now super excited to be part of the eventplus team and overseeing the Australian operations."
